To all of Jonathan's friends and readers who have made donations in the past to our small nonprofit Education Action Fund:

 

We continue to grant funds to people in poverty communities who face emergencies such as housing evictions or lack of heat in winter. But our primary activity is helping to organize and encourage embattled teachers in the public schools who reject the obsessive testing mania and the cult of rote-and-drill curriculum that has turned too many inner-city schools into joyless places where children are denied the right to indulge their curiosities and creativity in the act of learning. We also encourage educators who have not given up the struggle to bring an end to racial isolation and glaring inequalities.

We operate with no overhead except for accounting costs and are registered as a 501(c)3 charitable foundation with the IRS and the Division of Public Charities in the state of Massachusetts.
